Help us reopen schools more quickly and safely. Wear a mask. Slow the spread. Learn how the Chula Vista Elementary School District is doing its part in this video for parents.

While we are planning for a return to school, there is no certainty when that will be able to occur. Our schools can’t reopen until our community’s COVID-19 rates go down. That's where you come in. Your actions can save lives.

“We know that these times are challenging,” said Angelica Maldonado, the District’s Parent Engagement Liaison. “As a mother of two boys, I know it hasn't been an easy few months. It is our goal to return students to our school sites when it is safe to do so, for both our students and staff.”

In preparation for students returning to in-class instruction in the future, the District is launching a video series that shares best practices that will assist our students, parents and staff in helping reduce transmission of COVID-19.

Caring Crew Logo“Our ‘Caring Crew’ will model behaviors throughout our campuses when the time comes to reopen campuses to in-school instruction,” Maldonado said.

Even when our schools are able to return to in-person instruction, a distance learning format will continue to be an option for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year for those families that decide it still works best for them.

Until then, parents and students are encouraged to practice the tips shared in the video.

“Our District is a family and we are here to support you,” Maldonado said. “Together, we can accomplish great things and we each play a critical role in reducing the spread of COVID-19 and returning our students to our campuses.

Remember, "Safety Starts At Home!"
